Scams target Teenage Models Posted by Nick
The latest outbreak of scams are preying on inexperienced teenage models according to recent reports. Teenagers look up to models such as Tyra Banks and Paris Hilton and aspire to be just like them. They will do anything possible and take advice from anyone just to become a model in hope that one day they too will be looked up to.
One of the most common scams is companies telling you that you need to have a complete modeling portfolio in order to get going with your modeling career. In reality however, many of the modeling agencies find people in everyday places, on the streets or in a shopping center, without a single photography.
The truth is that if a modeling agency feels you have the right look, they will often produce a portfolio for you of the style of modeling they think you will work for their clients.
For more information see our Teenage Modeling article or Beginners Guide to Modeling.
Teenage models beware, if in doubt get impartial advice from another independant agency.
